Job Description
Costumer
The Department of Dance at Brigham Young University is seeking a professional, self-motivated, and collaborative individual to manage costume needs for BYU Traditionz and other second/third tier folk dance ensembles.
What you’ll do in this position:
- Costume and prop maintenance, repairs, and alterations
- Attendance at needed fittings and rehearsals to make alterations as needed
- Cleaning and repairing of costumes once the run of a show is over
What qualifies you for this role:
Required:
- A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
- Competency in sewing, alterations, and repairs.
- Excellent organizational and management skills to meet season schedule deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain good working relations with others
- Excellent collaborative skills to work with artistic directors and students
- Ability to arrange distributions, fittings, alterations, maintenance, collecting and cleaning of used costumes
Preferred:
- Five years of sewing and alterations experience

Compensation Range
Actual compensation based on education and experience
$19.80 - $25.72Required Documents:
