POSITION SUMMARY: primarily responsible for greeting guests, seating them, and ensuring a positive first impression of a restaurant or dining establishment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greeting guests as they enter the establishment.
- Managing reservations and seating arrangements.
- Providing menus and accompanying guests to their tables.
- Managing the waiting list during busy periods.
- Answering phones and taking reservations.
- Addressing guest inquiries about the menu or restaurant.
- Ensuring guests have everything they need for a comfortable dining experience.
- Potentially taking initial drink orders or providing information on daily specials.
- Communicating with servers and other staff about seating arrangements and guest needs.
- Assisting with tasks like bussing tables or running food if needed.
- Maintaining a clean and organized front-of-house area.
- May handle phone calls and address customer queries.
- May assist with special requests or accommodations.
- May be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in the front of house.
