Demolition Worker / Equipment Operator – Briggs Contracting LLC

Position Overview:
We’re hiring an experienced Demolition Worker / Equipment Operator to join our crew. The ideal candidate is dependable, self-motivated, and experienced in running heavy equipment and dump trailers. You’ll be working on a variety of demolition and site prep projects across Maine.
Responsibilities:
- Perform full and selective demolition (interior and exterior).
- Operate excavators, skid steers, and loaders safely and efficiently.
- Haul and dump debris using company dump trailers and trucks.
- Assist with debris sorting, loading, and general site cleanup.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Solve on-site challenges and adapt to changing conditions.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear proper PPE.
Requirements:
- 2 years of experience in demolition, excavation, or related construction.
- Skilled in operating heavy equipment (excavators, skid steers, loaders).
- Experience hauling dump trailers.
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL Class A or B strongly preferred.
- Reliable transportation.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical labor as needed.
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and safety-minded.
Preferred Qualifications (a plus):
- CDL Class A or B license.
- OSHA or Maine DEP Erosion Control certification.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment upkeep and troubleshooting.
