Work With a Team Solving Some of the Most Complex Geohazard, Underground, and Infrastructure Challenges in North America
Brierley Associates is expanding our geohazard, abandoned mine land, and slope stability practices and seeking a motivated Mid-Level Engineer who wants to work on technically challenging, high-impact projects across surface and underground environments. You will join a collaborative team of geotechnical engineers, engineering geologists, tunnel and trenchless specialists, and rock mechanics experts who work together to design solutions that protect infrastructure, support contractors, and reduce risk for public and private clients.
Our work includes:
Landslide, rockfall, highwall, and embankment stabilization
Mine fire abatement and highwall stability
LiDAR, InSAR, GIS and remote sensing–driven hazard mapping
Soft and hard rock subsidence investigations and mitigation
DOT and state AML geohazard programs
Mine shaft portal, adit, and shaft closures
Geohazards mapping, analysis, and modeling
Ground condition and behavioral assessment for underground projects
Ground improvement, earthwork, excavation shoring, and earth retention systems
Geomorphic reclamation and hydraulic structures design
This role offers the opportunity to develop deep technical specialization, gain real design ownership, and advance quickly within a culture that values autonomy, initiative, and professional growth.
Why This Role Stands Out:
You’ll work on complex geohazard and underground engineering projects, not just routine geotechnical assignments.
You’ll contribute directly to high-profile, multidisciplinary infrastructure and heavy civil projects across the U.S.
You’ll have clear pathways toward Project Engineer, Senior Engineer, or PM roles. You’ll work in a culture that values innovation, hands-on engineering, practicality, engineering judgement, and entrepreneurial thinking. If you want a role that blends above-ground geohazard engineering with the underground expertise Brierley is known for, this is a unique opportunity.
Requirements:
