Legal Assistant - Personal Injury

briefCASE Legal Support, LLC is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced bilingual Legal Assistant to join our team and provide dedicated support to our client, DJC Law, PLLC, a fast-growing Texas personal injury law firm. As an employee of briefCASE Legal Support, LLC, you will play an integral role in supporting DJC Law’s legal operations and ensuring clients receive exceptional service from case intake through settlement and trial.

The ideal candidate is a personable self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and possesses a strong understanding of civil litigation, particularly personal injury matters.

In this role, you will work closely with attorneys and the legal team at DJC Law to manage cases through all stages of litigation—including pre-trial, trial, and post-trial—while maintaining consistent client communication and ensuring accuracy in all filings, case documentation, and case management processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist attorney with all phases of personal injury litigation, including drafting pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, subpoenas, deposition notices, and trial-related documents under attorney supervision.
• Organize, maintain, and manage case files, evidence, pleadings, discovery materials, and correspondence within the firm’s case management system.
• Obtain, review, organize, and summarize medical records, bills, lien information, and expert reports to support damages and discovery responses.
• Communicate with clients regarding case status, required documentation, and general questions, ensuring professionalism and client satisfaction.
• Assist with trial and hearing preparation, including exhibits, witness coordination, subpoenas, and courtroom logistics; attend proceedings as needed.
• Prepare and file court documents in compliance with local rules, track deadlines, and manage assigned dockets and calendars.
• Conduct legal research related to statutes, case law, and procedural issues relevant to personal injury litigation.
• Assist with settlement preparation, including drafting demand packages and negotiating medical bills, liens, and settlements with providers and insurance carriers.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and foster positive working relationships with clients, attorneys, courts, and insurance companies.

Hourly Pay Range

$24.00 - $28.00 per hour

• 2–3 years of experience as a paralegal in a litigation-focused role; personal injury experience strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree in paralegal studies (paralegal certificate preferred)
• Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures, discovery, court filings, and trial preparation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Experience with case management software (Filevine preferred) and e-filing systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational ability, and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple cases, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.
• Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal and client-service skills.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
