What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Support Staff/Peer Recovery Specialist position at Bridging the Gaps, Inc.?
Full job description
Be the Bridge to a New Beginning
Do you have the empathy and patience to guide someone through their first steps of recovery? At Bridging the Gaps (BTG), we don’t just treat symptoms; we support people. As a small, integrative, and holistic recovery treatment facility, we believe that healing happens in a safe, nurturing, and compassionate environment.
The Role: More Than Just a Night Shift
While the rest of the world sleeps, our mission continues. At Bridging the Gaps, we believe that recovery doesn’t take a break, and our overnight team serves as the 'anchor' for our residential houses. You aren’t just monitoring a building or 'covering a shift'; you are the primary point of safety and stability for our residents. We are looking for an Overnight Specialist who understands that their presence ensures our clients feel safe, supported, and cared for during the quietest—and often most vulnerable—hours of their journey.
- The Schedule: 11:00 PM – 9:30 AM Sunday - Thursday; or 11:00 PM - 11:00 AM Friday and Saturday night.
- The Benefit: 4 ten-hour shifts; or one ten-hour shift and two 12 hour shifts
- The Perk: This position is perfect for those who have recently completed their Peer Recovery Specialist course and are seeking those vital 500 supervised hours!
What Your Days (and Nights) Will Look Like
You’ll be a vital part of the household rhythm, ensuring everything runs smoothly so our clients can focus on healing.
- Nurturing Environment: Help maintain a clean, orderly, and peaceful home.
- Holistic Nutrition: Support our "food as medicine" philosophy by helping with wholesome, organic meal prep and breakfast service.
- Safety & Care: Administer medications, keep accurate records, and ensure the safety of our residents overnight.
- Community Connection: Occasionally transport clients to local meetings or gym sessions, being a supportive presence as they reintegrate into healthy habits.
Who You Are
- Empathetic & Reliable: You understand the delicacy of early recovery and show up with a grounded, supportive energy.
- A Natural Helper: You don't mind rolling up your sleeves—whether it's helping in the kitchen or organizing household supplies.
- Qualifications: You have a High School Diploma and a valid driver’s license.
- Clean & Clear: You can pass a fingerprint background check and a drug screen (including marijuana).
- Recovery-Minded: If you are in recovery yourself, we celebrate that! We require a minimum of two years of continuous sobriety.
- Willing to Learn: In house training for CPR, First Aid and Medication Administration Certification.
