What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Billing Specialist position at Bridging the Gap Therapy Solutions?
Private therapy practice looking for a Medical Billing Specialist. We would prefer a candidate with previous Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or therapy billing experience but it is not required. MUST have previous claim submission, AR, and claim denial experience. This is a full-time position (40 hours) in our Tampa Clinic and DOES NOT include remote or hybrid hours.
Duties are to include (but not limited to) –
- Billing a variety of funding sources including commercial funders and medicaid insurance
- Calling insurance and verifying benefits
- Reviewing insurance benefits with clients
- Assisting with the full revenue cycle from claim submission to appeals
- Auditing medical records
- Assisting with hiring and new employee intake
Work Experience Required
- 1-2 years of insurance billing experience
- Experience in mental health or therapy billing
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding
- Has attention to detail and efficient at data entry skills.
- Experience in understanding clearing houses, posting payments, denials and adjustments
