Job Title: Part-Time Entry-Level Group Leader – Children with Disabilities & Special Needs (1099 Contractor)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Part-Time Group Leader to assist in facilitating group sessions for children with disabilities and/or special needs. This is an entry-level 1099 contractor position—perfect for someone eager to gain experience, support children, and help create a positive, inclusive environment. Prior experience with group facilitation or working with children with disabilities is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in leading and supporting group activities for children with disabilities and/or special needs.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all participants.
- Present materials and assist with activities using a laptop or other technology as needed.
- Support children’s engagement and participation during group sessions.
- Follow guidance from supervisors and collaborate with team members.
- Track basic attendance and participation records.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in education, social services, or child development preferred.
- Comfortable presenting in front of small groups and using a laptop or similar technology.
- Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn strategies for supporting children with disabilities and/or special needs.
- Reliable, responsible, and enthusiastic about working with children.
Preferred:
- Interest in education, social services, or child development.
Work Details:
- Part-time, flexible schedule.
- Contractor position (1099).
- Primarily in-person group sessions with occasional use of virtual tools.
- May include some evenings or weekends.
Work Environment
- Primarily in person with some remote work occasionally.
- May require occasional evenings or weekends for program events or meetings.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Ability to assist with mobility up to 30 lbs as needed
- Frequent interaction with children, families, and staff in homes and community settings
- Travel required to service area in Waukesha with occasional evening or weekend work as needed
