Summary
We are seeking a Full Time Scale House Attendant/Equipment Operator to join our team at Bridgewater Farm Supply. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting incoming landscape customers with fulfilling pick up orders. As well as, assisting a small team of yard workers and heavy equipment operators perform various tasks pertaining to the manufacturing of bark mulch and compost using heavy equipment.
Responsibilities
- Operate a cash register and monitor customer charges
- Monitor and direct the flow of customers and contractor traffic into and out of the loading area.
- Assist contractor and retail customers as necessary with their purchases, as well as load and unload their products.
- Perform various tasks pertaining to manufacturing of bark mulch, loam and compost.
- Routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist with organizing raw and finished bark products in yard for short and long term storage.
- Assist truck driver and maintenance team as needed in parking and organizing storage trailers
- Help mechanics when necessary with minor repairs to heavy equipment; lubricating parts, etc.
- Monitor quality and compliance of incoming materials per company requirements.
- Assist with and perform onsite duties as necessary, adhere to all policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, including all safety policies, rules and regulations. As well as additional duties as requested by management.
- Maintain Massachusetts Hoisting license, must be able to pass DOT physical and submit to drug testing as required by law.
- Monitor and maintain retail stock in yard, replenish as needed.
Skills & Knowledge
- MA hoisting license 2A/1C
- Class A License
- Cash Register/Customer Service Experience
Education
- High School Diploma or GED
Requirements
- Prior Customer Service experience, with cash register experience.
- Proven experience as an Equipment Operator or similar role.
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL A) is required.
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery such a loaders and excavators
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Position requires independently lifting and maneuvering tools or equipment up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to step up and into, and down/out of heavy equipment vehicles and trucks

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
