What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Credit Analyst - SBA position at Bridgewater Bank?
We are seeking an experienced SBA Senior Credit Analyst to join our growing Credit and SBA teams in St. Louis Park. The SBA Senior Credit Analyst will provide support to the lenders by evaluating the financial condition and eligibility of businesses applying for Small Business Administration (SBA) lending credit with the bank. The SBA Senior Credit Analyst partners closely with the SBA lenders, portfolio managers, credit officers, and loan operations teams to support lending decisions, SBA compliance, and portfolio quality.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare credit presentations to be used in the credit approval process including cash flow analysis, forecasting of future performance, industry trends, and loan performance histories
- Verify eligibility of borrowers, loan purposes, collateral requirements, and loan program under SBA guidelines
- Collect, review, and analyze loan requests, financial information, appraisals, title insurance, etc. for larger, more complex deals
- Ensure credit presentation and analysis complies with current SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), program requirements, and internal credit policies.
- Assist in maintaining SBA guaranty integrity through accurate documentation and underwriting practices from initial loan approval through loan closing.
- Partner with SBA Bankers and Portfolio Managers in maintaining positive relationships with new and existing clients by providing timely feedback to client requests and questions
- Assign risk ratings to support loan requests
- Prepare annual reviews of existing loan relationships
- Mentor other Credit Analysts
- Prepare spreadsheets, reports, summaries and recommendations on loan structure/pricing for lenders
- Conduct property inspections to ensure accuracy
- Assist loan and credit department managers with special projects for managing risks in the lending function
- Maintain knowledge of all supporting software, compliance, and procedures as they relate to the loan department
- Assist lenders in maintaining positive relationships with new and existing clients by providing timely feedback to client requests and questions
- Adhere to the bank’s policies, procedures, security requirements and government regulations including (but not limited to) BSA
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business or related field
- 2 years of experience with commercial credit analysis and underwriting for SBA lending programs
- Strong knowledge of SBA lending programs and commercial loan structures
- Superior analytical/reasoning skills
- Ability to manage multiple loan requests and meet established deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
The typical annual/hourly base pay range for this role is between $85,000-$110,000. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
