Role Description The Trading & Operations Associate is a dynamic full-time, on-site role based in Dubuque, IA. This position is responsible for executing and monitoring trades across client accounts, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to firm policies and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include reconciling accounts, maintaining trade records, assisting with cash management, and supporting operational workflows to keep systems and processes running smoothly. The associate will also respond to internal and external inquiries, coordinate with advisors and custodians, and help resolve operational issues that impact client portfolios. This role works closely with team members to enhance trading efficiency, improve operational procedures, and contribute to a consistent, high-quality client experience. Secondary responsibilities will include assisting with general operations and administrative functions as the firm continues to grow. Participate in firm-wide initiatives and process improvement projects that enhance efficiency and client service quality & support the broader advisory team with client service tasks as needed, contributing to a seamless and coordinated client experience.
Qualifications
- Strong operations skills, including experience with process management, account reconciliation, and workflow optimization.
- Well-developed analytical skills for reviewing trade activity, identifying discrepancies, and interpreting financial data.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with advisors, custodians, and clients in a clear and professional manner.
- Customer service mindset with the ability to handle inquiries, resolve issues, and support a positive client experience.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with financial systems and trading platforms.
- Ability to work on-site in Dubuque, IA, managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant experience in trading, operations, or financial services is preferred; knowledge of investment products and custodial platforms is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in wealth management, financial planning, or a related financial service role.
- Familiarity with portfolio management or financial planning software.
- FINRA Series 65 or 66 license- or a demonstrated willingness and ability to obtain one
- Working knowledge of investment products, account types (IRA, Roth IRA, taxable brokerage, etc.) and trading operations workflows.
