Role Description
The Mortgage Loan Originator role at Bridgeview Mortgage Corp. is a contract, on-site & off-site position based in Franklin Square, NY. This role involves originating residential mortgage loans by identifying client needs, explaining loan products, and guiding borrowers through the application process. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting with prospective borrowers, gathering and reviewing financial documentation, coordinating with underwriting and processing teams, and ensuring files meet regulatory and company standards. The Mortgage Loan Originator will maintain regular communication with clients, provide status updates, and support timely closings while cultivating referral relationships with real estate agents and other partners. The role requires consistent on-site presence to meet clients, collaborate with team members, and deliver a high level of service.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Loan Origination and Mortgage Lending to effectively assess borrower needs and present appropriate loan products.
- Candidates should possess a solid understanding of Underwriting and Loans to prepare complete files and collaborate efficiently with underwriting teams.
- Candidates should possess foundational knowledge in Finance to analyze income, credit, and assets and explain financial implications to borrowers.
- Valid NMLS registration and a clean regulatory record; state-appropriate mortgage license required or the ability to obtain one promptly.
- Proven experience in residential mortgage lending, preferably in a retail environment, with a track record of closed loans.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build trust and long-term client relationships.
- Detail-oriented approach, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple loan files and deadlines simultaneously.
- Experience in using Encompass LOS system to manage active pipelines.
