Plant Engineer

Job Overview:

The Plant Engineer is responsible for directing the smooth operation of the plant. They plan and coordinate activities concerned with the design, construction, modification, and maintenance of equipment and machinery for Bridgestone Aircraft Tire (USA), Inc.

Responsibilities:

• Standardize equipment, methods and processes at all areas (as feasible)
• Program and troubleshoot PLC/HMI
• Lead and coordinate technical projects; ensures compliance to all state and federal regulations and design plans
• Responsible for project schedule preparation, budget (ROI) calculations; Completes projects on time and within assigned budget
• Collaborates with various departments on projects, troubleshooting, waste and defective reduction
• Ensures all vendors and contractors follow required Safety protocol/procedures during each visit/project
• Responsible for purchasing, follows bid protocol, start-up of new equipment, training of new teammates, and work instruction development
• Assist on cost down efforts
• Supports Safety and Environmental related tasks and activities; Maintains all efficient and safe working environment for all teammates
• Actis as building construction supervisor as needed
• An ability to perform on the job training to any new teammates

Supervisory Duties:

• When needed, carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training teammates; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; counseling teammates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Electrical Engineer Bachelor's degree (B.S) from four-year (4) college or university
• Five (5) years of experience as a Plant/Electrical Engineer
• Knowledge and experience with software as it pertains to engineering
• Proficient in PLC/HMI (RS Logic 5000/Studio 5000) - Auto CAD
• Effective communication skills, written and verbal
• Exceptional external and internal customer service skills
• Alan Bradley/Rockwell Systems/HMI programming

Preferred:

Engineer practical knowledge in electrical, mechanical programmable machines, as well as in construction and environmental issues, related to aircraft tire retreading.
