Restaurant Supervisor

Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $20.00–$22.00 per hour
Restaurant Hours: Monday through Saturday, 5:00 AM–10:00 AM
Work Schedule: Full-time morning shifts that include scheduled hours before the restaurant opens and after it closes
Bridges and Tacos is a locally owned breakfast restaurant serving breakfast tacos, burritos, breakfast bowls, coffee, and other breakfast favorites. The restaurant is open Monday through Saturday from 5:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
We are looking for a dependable and motivated Restaurant Supervisor who can lead the morning team, maintain strong operating standards, and help create a welcoming experience for every guest.
Position Summary
The Restaurant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts. This position will open and close the restaurant, supervise employees, maintain food quality and safety standards, support food preparation and service, and ensure all opening and closing duties are completed properly.
The supervisor’s scheduled shift will include working before the restaurant opens at 5:00 AM and after it closes at 10:00 AM.
The ideal candidate is organized, hands-on, comfortable leading a small team, and willing to assist wherever needed.
Responsibilities
· Arrive before the restaurant opens to complete all required opening procedures.
· Ensure equipment, workstations, food items, and service areas are ready before the restaurant opens at 5:00 AM.
· Remain after the restaurant closes to complete all required closing procedures.
· Ensure food is properly stored, equipment is shut down safely, required records are completed, and the restaurant is cleaned and secured before leaving.
· Supervise cooks, cashiers, servers, and other team members during the shift.
· Assign daily duties and provide clear direction to employees.
· Lead by example and assist with cooking, food preparation, order assembly, cashier duties, cleaning, and guest service as needed.
· Ensure breakfast tacos, burritos, breakfast bowls, and other menu items are prepared according to established recipes and portion standards.
· Monitor food quality, appearance, freshness, and preparation times.
· Maintain proper food temperatures and follow all food safety, sanitation, and HACCP procedures.
· Complete and review required temperature, cleaning, opening, closing, and food safety logs.
· Ensure employees follow handwashing, glove-use, cross-contamination prevention, and proper food-storage procedures.
· Monitor hot-holding and cold-holding equipment throughout the shift.
· Provide training, coaching, feedback, and accountability to employees.
· Help create a respectful, positive, and team-oriented workplace.
· Address employee questions, performance concerns, and operational issues professionally.
· Provide friendly and efficient service to guests.
· Resolve guest concerns and correct order issues when possible.
· Monitor order accuracy and service speed.
· Operate the point-of-sale system and assist with cash handling.
· Count cash drawers and complete opening, closing, and shift-related financial procedures.
· Monitor food, packaging, beverage, and supply levels.
· Notify ownership or management of items that need to be ordered.
· Help receive deliveries and verify product quality, quantity, and temperature.
· Reduce food waste by following portion-control, rotation, labeling, and storage procedures.
· Ensure food and supplies are properly labeled, dated, stored, and rotated using FIFO procedures.
· Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen, counter-service area, storage areas, and employee workspaces.
· Ensure dishes, utensils, equipment, floors, counters, and food-contact surfaces are cleaned and sanitized properly.
· Report equipment problems, maintenance concerns, food safety issues, employee injuries, or other serious concerns promptly.
· Support catering orders and large food-production needs when scheduled.
· Follow all Bridges and Tacos policies, procedures, recipes, and operating standards.
· Complete other restaurant duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Previous restaurant or food-service supervisory experience is required.
· Strong leadership and communication skills.
· Ability to supervise employees while remaining actively involved in daily operations.
· Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
· Ability to work independently and make responsible decisions during opening and closing procedures.
· Comfortable using a point-of-sale system and handling cash.
· Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced, small-team environment.
· Able to remain professional when handling guest or employee concerns.
· Must be available for early-morning shifts Monday through Saturday, including scheduled time before opening and after closing.
· A current ServSafe Manager Certificate is required and must be maintained throughout employment.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
· Ability to bend, reach, lift, and perform repetitive kitchen and service tasks.
· Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
· Ability to work around grills, ovens, hot-holding equipment, refrigeration equipment, and other commercial kitchen equipment.
· Ability to safely work in hot, cold, wet, and fast-paced kitchen conditions.
