What are the responsibilities and job description for the FOOD SERVICE LODGE SUPERVISOR position at Bridger Bowl?
SUMMARY:
Supervise the Food Service operations and employees in the specific lodge scheduled to ensure quality menu items and service to customers in a timely manner.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Ensure daily setup of lodges and timely execution of kitchen & cafeteria operations to meet established standards.
- Maintain a high level of customer service across all areas of the department.
- Monitor and manage the flow of customers throughout the building.
- Serve as an information resource for both guests and staff.
- Supervise and support employees, filling in subordinate roles when necessary.
- Assist the Food Service Managers with training, supervision, and employee documentation.
- Monitor food quality and portion control standards.
- Ensure cleanliness of public areas, restrooms, and back-of-house spaces throughout the day; maintain restroom supplies.
- Promote and develop suggestive selling techniques among staff.
- Oversee cash handling procedures, support best practices, and reconcile register drawers daily.
- Ensure the security of the building during and after hours.
- Monitor and distribute deliveries and inventory as needed.
- Report facility and building system issues to the Facilities Department.
- Help establish, implement, and enforce Bridger Bowl and Food Service policies and procedures.
- Comply with and enforce all Montana Department of Health and Liquor Control Board regulations.

SUPERVISION:
- Supervision Given: This position is responsible for shared supervision of the Food Service employees.
- Supervision Received: Works under the supervision of the Food Service Operations Manager. Receive assignments as directed, with clear expectations, available guidance, and periodic performance reviews as needed or during check-ins.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in food & beverage service, customer service, supervision and/or knowledge of the restaurant industry.
- Experience in cash handling and POS systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including active listening skills.
- Previous training in food handling regulations including responsible alcohol service techniques and best practices.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Outdoors: Regularly work in wet, cold, quickly changing winter conditions requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces.
- Indoors: Can be exposed to hazardous conditions and equipment that may result in minor cuts or burns. Are often exposed to hot and cold temperatures, such as working near ovens, or retrieving food from freezers.
- Exposure: Are frequently exposed to contaminants, such as cleaning supplies and chemical degreasers. Are often exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting and uncomfortable. Sometimes it requires work in extremely bright or inadequate lighting.
- Work physically near others throughout the shift.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, bend or be on your feet for extended periods of time.
- Be capable of lifting and carrying 50 lbs.
- Learning new tasks, remembering processes, maintaining focus, communicating effectively with coworkers and visitors, and having the ability to complete tasks independently and efficiently.

- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
