Job Description
The VPK Director is the instructional and operational leader of the VPK program, responsible for ensuring high-quality early childhood instruction, full compliance with state VPK regulations, and a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for all students. Reporting to the principal or campus administrator, the VPK Director leads teachers and staff, oversees daily operations, and ensures students are fully prepared for kindergarten.
The VPK Director ensures curriculum is implemented with fidelity, classrooms are developmentally appropriate and aligned to early learning standards, and all compliance requirements are consistently met. This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented leader who builds strong teams, maintains strong family partnerships, and ensures that both student outcomes and program quality are consistently high.
Key Activities
Instructional Leadership
- Ensure implementation of developmentallyappropriate, standards-aligned instruction
- Coach and support VPK teachers through observations and feedback cycles
- Monitor student progress and ensure readiness for kindergarten
- Oversee lesson planning, assessments, and instructional practices
Program Operations & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with Florida VPK regulations and licensing requirements
- Maintainaccurateattendance, ratios, and required documentation
- Prepare for and successfully pass all audits, inspections, and monitoring visits
- Ensure classrooms meet health, safety, and quality standards
Family Engagement
- Build strong relationships with families as partners in learning
- Communicate regularlyregardingstudent progress and program expectations
- Address concerns with professionalism and urgency
- Facilitate family meetings, events, and onboarding
Professional Responsibilities
- Attend and activelyparticipatein leadership meetings and professional development
- Submit all reports, documentation, and compliance requirements on time
- Uphold all school policies, procedures, and professional expectations

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
- Valid or eligible Florida teaching certification
- Florida Director Credential and/or VPK endorsement
