Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with firearm selections, product demonstrations, and related accessories.
- Verify customer identification, background checks, and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local firearm laws.
- Operate the cash register accurately for retail sales transactions, handle cash and card payments, and maintain the cash drawer.
- Stock shelves with firearms, ammunition, accessories, and other store merchandise; ensure proper merchandising standards are maintained.
- Conduct product demos to educate customers on firearm features, safety procedures, and proper handling techniques.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions about products, store policies, and safety protocols using professional phone etiquette.
- Assist in inventory management by conducting stock counts, organizing displays, and ensuring product knowledge is current for sales associates.
- Promote upselling of accessories or related products to enhance customer experience and increase sales revenue.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to all safety guidelines during firearm handling and storage; assist in merchandising firearms securely.
- Support team members through supervising experience in retail settings or firearm sales environments when needed.
Experience
- Prior retail sales experience with a strong focus on customer service; familiarity with POS systems preferred.
- Supervising experience in retail or related fields is advantageous for team leadership opportunities.
- Experience conducting product demos or educational sessions enhances customer engagement skills.
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge including firearms, ammunition, accessories, and merchandising standards is highly desirable.
- Previous grocery store or general retail experience provides a solid foundation for managing multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Strong communication skills combined with excellent phone etiquette are essential for engaging customers professionally.
- Basic math skills necessary for cash handling, retail math calculations, and balancing cash registers accurately.
