SAP Solution Expert (Costing / R2R)

We are currently hiring an SAP Solution Expert (Costing / R2R) to support a client in Chantilly, VA. This position is available for both full-time employees and independent contractors. It is a remote, full-time role with occasional on-site work as needed for workshops or events. U.S. citizenship is required.
 

In this role, you will:
• Serve as the primary Controlling (CO) expert focused on costing and management controlling within a U.S. deployment of an SAP S/4HANA global design
• Determine integrated system design and configuration for complex business processes in discrete manufacturing and Aerospace & Defense environments
• Facilitate Explore workshops to gather and validate business and functional requirements with client stakeholders
• Provide detailed configuration of SAP S/4HANA components, including table setup, integration design, and functional specifications for development
• Lead design reviews to ensure alignment across financial, logistics, and production processes
• Deliver recommendations on best practices, technical implications, and system enhancements aligned with SAP’s product roadmap
• Support knowledge transfer, end-user training, and continuous improvement of system functionality
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure integration consistency and operational excellence across the enterprise landscape
 

Required Qualifications:
• U.S. Citizenship (required)
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field
• 5 years of professional consulting or equivalent industry experience
• 5 years of hands-on SAP configuration experience in Controlling / Costing
• Proven experience as a Value Stream Lead for a U.S. deployment of SAP S/4HANA (v2019 or later)
• Aerospace & Defense or discrete manufacturing background (Public Sector experience alone does not qualify)
• Successful completion of at least three full life cycle implementations, including global rollout and localization
• Strong understanding of integration between Controlling and other SAP modules (FI, MM, PP, SD)
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills; ability to lead workshops and present design concepts to business stakeholders
• Willingness to travel as needed for key workshops or project events
 

Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with SAP’s product roadmap, simplification list, and transition planning
• Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud or related reporting solutions
• Prior experience leading or mentoring junior consultants
• SAP certification in Controlling or S/4HANA Finance
