Labor & Employment Paralegal

Location: Metro Detroit, MI (Hybrid/Onsite)

About the Opportunity

A respected full-service law firm is seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Paralegal to join its growing legal team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with attorneys on all phases of litigation, including complex case management, discovery, trial preparation, and labor & employment matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, draft, and format a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, discovery materials, motions, and correspondence.
• Manage electronic and traditional court filings in federal and state courts.
• Coordinate and maintain organized case files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
• Assist with all phases of discovery, including document collection, review, analysis, production, and written discovery responses.
• Prepare deposition, hearing, arbitration, and trial exhibits and materials.
• Schedule and coordinate depositions, hearings, and other case-related events.
• Track court deadlines, filing requirements, and litigation calendars.
• Conduct factual research, investigations, and document review.
• Support trial preparation and post-judgment or appellate-related matters.
• Provide ongoing case management support for a busy litigation practice.

Qualifications

• 5 years of litigation paralegal experience, with labor & employment experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of civil procedure, discovery processes, and court filing requirements.
• Experience with federal and state court e-filing systems.
• Proficiency in preparing Tables of Contents (TOC) and Tables of Authorities (TOA).
• Excellent written, verbal, proofreading, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
• Paralegal degree or certificate preferred.
