Responsibilities
- Perform automotive structural repairs, including frame straightening and sheet metal work, utilizing welding repair techniques such as MIG welding and soldering.
- Conduct auto body repairs by removing dents, replacing panels, and restoring vehicle exteriors using hand tools, power tools, sanding tools, and automotive welding equipment.
- Apply automotive cosmetic repairs including sanding, auto painting with airless paint spraying systems, and automotive refinishing to achieve a flawless finish.
- Install automotive parts such as auto glass, bumpers, trim pieces, and other components with precision and care.
- Use fabrication techniques to create custom parts or modify existing components to meet repair specifications.
- Maintain detailed documentation of repair processes and communicate effectively with customers regarding estimates and repair timelines.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications while working efficiently to meet deadlines.
Requirements
- Proven experience working as an automotive body technician in a dealership or collision repair environment.
- Proficiency in MIG welding, soldering, and fabrication repair techniques essential for structural and cosmetic repairs.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems, parts installation, and automotive structural components.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, sanding tools, and automotive painting equipment to deliver high-quality results.
- Familiarity with auto estimating software and customer service practices is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during complex repairs.
- Knowledge of auto restoration processes and automotive parts installation is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and provide outstanding service to customers.
