Based in Santa Clarita, California, our headquarters is located on Newhall Avenue. We provide access to vital services, resources, shelter, and support to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in the region. Our mission is rooted in fostering dignity, stability, and pathways toward permanent housing solutions.


Role Description

The Director of Programs leads and oversees the programming functions of Bridge to Home's direct case management and clinical programs. The Director of Programs will oversee all case management, including clinical programs and staff, operations and infrastructure with an eye toward program design to ensure that Bridge to Home continues to thrive and fulfill its mission. S/he will identify strategies and systems to improve organizational efficiency and productivity while maintaining an engaged and high-performing workforce.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage and work in collaboration with the Executive Director on matters of governance, communications, operations, and strategy
  • Manage organizational visioning, strategic planning, and goal setting between programs and staff
  • Develop and manage case management and clinical infrastructure required to successfully deliver and expand program operations to ensure that best practices are executed in homeless services, along with overseeing quality assurance of all client services
  • Support the Executive Director in developing partnerships and strategies in the nonprofit, private, and public sectors that drive sustained capacity-building and help BTH advance its mission
  • Support the Executive Director and Director of Finance in providing oversight to human resources activities such as recruitment, hiring, and compensation/benefits administration
  • Support organizational budgeting process, and assist in the development of short- and long-term financial plans and analysis as it relates to agency programs
  • Ensure ongoing regulatory and legal compliance, and provide oversight to all contract, risk management, insurance, and legal activities
  • Extensive familiarization with City and County government contracts and requirements
  • Lead the collection of data on unsheltered individuals in our community to inform our agency, funding, and community planning
  • Monitor organizational performance metrics and lead all related reporting efforts, identify strategies and systems to improve organizational efficiency and productivity while maintaining engagement and high-performance
  • Guide program development strategies and provide leadership in the launching of new initiatives
  • Regularly provide verbal, written, quantitative and qualitative analyses, briefings, and recommendations to the Executive Director and Board of Directors
  • Supervise, coach, and train all program staff and interns
  • Coordinate and participate in agency, LAHSA, SPA 2 meetings, and other community meetings.
  • Back up designated ADA Compliance Officer and Safety Manager
  • On-call for emergencies
  • Other duties as assigned and related to the job


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A master’s degree in social work, public administration, public policy or related field is highly desired; a minimum of 3 years of experience in supervising staff and developing programs, preferably within homeless services or other closely related field
  • Clinical license is highly desired
  • Broad knowledge of leadership and management with demonstrated technical expertise in program design/development
  • Experience managing large-scale projects and driving change initiatives
  • Knowledge of federal and state labor laws and regulations
  • Skills to produce reports with accurate qualitative and quantitative analysis
  • Excels at operating in a fast-paced community environment and is readily adaptable to changing circumstances
  • Ability to look at situations from several points of view
  • Persuasive with details and facts
  • Ability to delegate responsibilities effectively
  • Passionate about staff development and creating an environment that cultivates a successful work environment and goal-orientated team
  • High comfort level working in a diverse environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook and Access
  • Possess a strong commitment to the mission, philosophy, and values of BTH, as well as a passion for ending homelessness. Prior experience working with the homeless is preferred.
