At Bridge Street Ministries (BSM), we believe that healthy systems lead to healthy ministry. We are seeking a strategic, systems-minded leader to serve as our Operations Director. This individual will build upon and maintain the "Internal Architecture" and scaffolding necessary to support a flourishing, mission-aligned culture.

The Role

The Operations Director is a high-level leadership position reporting directly to the Executive Director. You will be the engine behind our after-school and gap year programs, ensuring our "human engine" is cared for and our organizational machinery runs with excellence. This role is a unique blend of Relational HR and Strategic Systems Design—perfect for someone who loves refining processes just as much as they love investing in people.

Primary Responsibilities

Relational HR & Staff Development (40%)

  • Lead the end-to-end hiring, screening, and onboarding process for staff and volunteers.
  • Design and oversee annual Professional Development (PD) plans to help our team grow.
  • Cultivate staff health by planning summits, retreats, and team-building rhythms.

Systems & Program Logistics (30%)

  • Refine the operational "machinery" behind our after-school and gap year programs.
  • Manage internal communication rhythms to ensure organizational alignment.
  • Oversee commercial leases (including Eden Cafe) and facility maintenance.

Policy, Compliance & Safety (20%)

  • Author and review the Staff Handbook and program-specific SOPs annually.
  • Oversee Abuse Prevention and Transportation training to ensure a safe environment.
  • Act as the primary liaison for our external HR Consultant regarding legal compliance.

Financial Strategy & Stewardship (10%)

  • Develop and maintain organizational financial policies.
  • Manage facility and operational budgets in collaboration with the Executive Director.

Qualifications

  • Faith: A committed follower of Jesus who adheres to BSM’s statement of faith and Christ-centered approach to community development.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of experience in operations, HR, or non-profit management.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in a related field is a plus.
  • Systems Thinking: A proven ability to translate a big-picture vision into actionable, documented processes.
  • Emotional Intelligence: High EQ with a "people-first" temperament; ability to handle confidential personnel matters with discretion.
  • Initiative: A self-starter who identifies operational gaps before they become crises.
