POSITION: Maintenance Person
DIVISION: Bridge Receiving Center
REPORTS TO: Executive Director
CLASSIFICATION: Hourly
SCHEDULE: Flexible schedule, up to 70 hours per month, coordinated with ED
RATE OF PAY: $25 per hour
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as the main contact for facility maintenance and repair projects.
- Perform minor building repairs, including painting, furniture repair, and fixture replacement.
- Maintain and repair resident items as needed (bikes, toys, furniture, etc.).
- Organize and maintain all storage containers and maintenance tools.
- Coordinate annual maintenance services for:
- Fire alarm system
- Fire extinguishers
- Security system
- Fence and gate upkeep
- Filter replacement
- Conduct generator maintenance and testing.
- Oversee HVAC and appliance maintenance checks and replacements as needed.
- Maintain playground and outdoor safety standards.
- Serve as the point of contact for sewer and infrastructure issues, coordinating with the camp as needed.
- Complete dump and Goodwill runs as required to maintain a clean and organized facility.
- Conduct regular vehicle maintenance checks and coordinate service appointments.
- Perform landscaping and groundskeeping duties, including mowing, trimming, leaf removal, and minor outdoor repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and inspections.
- Work cooperatively with the Program Manager and designated staff to identify and address maintenance needs promptly.
- Respond to urgent maintenance concerns to ensure safety and compliance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in general maintenance, facility repair, or a related trade.
- Basic knowledge of building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and safety systems.
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools, lawn equipment, and maintenance machinery.
- Valid Washington State driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Criminal Background Record Clearance free of disqualifying convictions.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks efficiently and independently.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong attention to detail.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working in residential or childcare facility maintenance.
- Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Basic carpentry, painting, or mechanical repair skills.
- Experience coordinating with contractors and vendors.
- Commitment to the mission, values, and treatment philosophy of Bridge Receiving Center.
