Area Director of Housekeeping/Training

New York, NY | $90,000 Bonus Eligible | Full-Time

Lead. Develop. Elevate.

Are you a seasoned hotel housekeeping leader who gets excited about developing people, improving operations, and raising the bar across multiple properties?

We’re looking for an Area Director of Housekeeping Training to bring energy, expertise, and accountability to housekeeping teams throughout NYC. Reporting to the Managing Director, this is a highly visible role with the opportunity to influence hotel performance, develop future leaders, and help shape the success of new openings, hotel transitions, renovations, and performance-improvement initiatives.

If you know housekeeping inside and out — and love teaching others how to do it even better — this could be your next big opportunity.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and deliver housekeeping training programs for Executive Housekeepers, Assistant Directors, Managers, Supervisors, and line-level team members.
  • Onboard and develop new housekeeping leaders while ensuring company culture, brand standards, SOPs, and operating expectations are consistently understood and implemented.
  • Partner with General Managers and housekeeping leadership to assess operations, identify opportunities, and create actionable improvement plans.
  • Conduct property visits, coach teams, and help improve cleanliness, efficiency, service, productivity, and QA performance.
  • Lead quarterly Housekeeping Leadership Meetings to share best practices, ideas, and solutions across properties.
  • Support hotel openings, renovations, takeovers, transitions, and task-force assignments, from planning through implementation.
  • Prepare teams for brand and quality assurance audits and develop training initiatives designed to achieve strong audit results.
  • Train leaders on inventory, linen and supply management, expense reporting, productivity, and operational controls.
  • Help identify opportunities to reduce expenses while improving service and guest satisfaction.
  • Mentor and develop housekeeping leaders throughout NYC and support the recruitment and development of operations talent during openings and transitions.
  • Partner with outsourced housekeeping providers and train leadership teams on effectively managing those relationships.
  • Ensure required corporate and brand training goals are achieved across the portfolio.
What We're Looking For
  • 5 years of Executive Housekeeping experience; multi-property experience is a plus.
  • A proven track record of training, coaching, and developing hospitality leaders.
  • Experience with brand-standard audits and driving strong QA results.
  • Hospitality task-force experience, including hotel openings, transitions, or performance-improvement assignments.
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and properties.
  • Commercially minded and solutions-oriented, with an eye toward both quality and profitability.
  • A confident communicator, presenter, facilitator, and relationship builder who can influence teams at every level.
  • Someone who is energetic, self-directed, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel between properties as needed.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills; familiarity with hotel operating systems and platforms is a plus.
  • Fluency in English required; Spanish language skills are highly desired.
Why This Role?

This isn't a job where you'll simply oversee housekeeping — you'll help shape how housekeeping is done across an entire portfolio.

You'll work directly with hotel leaders, influence operational performance, develop the next generation of housekeeping talent, and play a key role in some of the most important moments in a hotel's lifecycle, from opening day to operational transitions and performance turnarounds.

Compensation: $90,000 base salary bonus eligibility.
