Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Dialysis Registered Dietitian to join our Bridge Dialysis healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide specialized nutritional care to patients undergoing dialysis, ensuring optimal health outcomes through tailored diet plans and comprehensive assessments. This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic clinical environment, supporting patients with complex medical needs, including those in long-term care and acute care settings. The position requires a thorough understanding of physiology, nutrition, and dietetics principles, with experience in hospital or dietary department settings preferred. Candidates should possess strong skills in patient assessment, health coaching, and care plan development to effectively manage the nutritional needs of diverse patient populations, including geriatrics and those requiring tube feeding or weight management.
Schedule: 5-10 hours per week. Onsite visits once a month to each location. Once a month rounding with Nephrologist. Most work will be completed remotely. *We do operate in multiple facilities throughout the valley; some driving will be required. Mileage reimbursement included.*
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed patient assessments to determine nutritional needs and develop individualized care plans
- Provide expert guidance on dialysis nutrition, including managing electrolyte balance and fluid restrictions
- Monitor patient progress and adjust dietary recommendations accordingly
- Educate patients on dietary restrictions, meal planning, and lifestyle modifications to support long-term health goals such as weight loss or disease management
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to integrate nutrition strategies into overall treatment plans
- Supervise and mentor junior staff or interns within the dietary department
- Document all interventions and progress notes accurately within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
- Stay current with advances in nutrition science related to nephrology, geriatrics, and acute care settings
Qualifications
- Registered Dietitian (RD) credential required; licensure as applicable by state regulations
- Proven experience in dialysis nutrition, hospital or long-term care settings preferred
- Strong knowledge of physiology, nutrition therapy, and diagnostic evaluation techniques
- Experience with tube feeding management and developing comprehensive care plans for complex conditions
- Familiarity with EMR systems and dietary documentation protocols
- Excellent patient assessment skills with a focus on geriatrics, acute care, weight loss programs, and chronic disease management
- Demonstrated expertise in health coaching and patient education strategies aimed at improving health outcomes
