Duties
● Manage a caseload of foster children and families in accordance with agency policies and state regulations.
● Conduct regular home visits to assess child safety, well-being, and placement stability.
● Develop, implement, and monitor individualized case and service plans. ● Maintain ongoing communication with foster parents, biological families, schools, healthcare providers, and community partners.
● Provide support, guidance, crisis intervention, and advocacy services.
● Facilitate reunification efforts and permanency planning when appropriate.
● Coordinate referrals for counseling, medical care, educational services, and community resources.
● Prepare accurate and timely case notes, reports, and documentation.
● Attend court hearings, family team meetings, and staffing meetings as needed.
● Complete foster home studies and provide recommendations for approval.
● Support foster parent recruitment, retention, and training efforts.
● Monitor children's educational progress and advocate for academic success.
● Ensure compliance with DFCS regulations, agency standards, and foster care requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass criminal background checks and required screenings.
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends. Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field.
- Experience in foster care, child welfare, family services, or case management.
- Knowledge of DFCS policies and child welfare regulations.
- Training or certification in trauma-informed care.
- Experience working with diverse populations and high-risk families.
