Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly, present menus confidently, and assist with food and beverage selections to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Take accurate orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring all special requests are noted and communicated effectively.
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining proper food handling and sanitation standards.
- Upsell menu items and specials to maximize sales opportunities while providing honest recommendations based on guest preferences.
- Manage tables efficiently by bussing, resetting, and ensuring cleanliness throughout your shift.
- Handle cash transactions accurately through cashiering systems, including cash handling and basic math calculations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and delivery, supporting overall restaurant operations.
- Maintain excellent guest relations by addressing questions or concerns promptly and professionally.
- Support openTable reservations management to optimize seating arrangements during busy hours.
- Uphold food safety standards and sanitation protocols in compliance with health regulations at all times.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant or food service experience preferred, especially in fine dining or nightclub environments.
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; experience with OpenTable is a plus.
- Demonstrated culinary experience or understanding of food preparation enhances service quality.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy periods.
- Proven ability in sales techniques including upselling to increase revenue while providing genuine guest service.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude that fosters guest loyalty.
- Knowledge of food safety procedures, sanitation standards, and proper food handling practices.
- Experience with bussing, host/hostess duties, or cashiering is advantageous.
