Elementary Tech Enrichment Afternoon-Evening

Bricks 4 Kidz Tacoma
Olympia, WA Part Time
POSTED ON 1/5/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 5/4/2026

You love working with elementary-age kids. Showing them how to build LEGO robots and to code them to move react sounds like a meaningful way to spend an hour or two. A part-time job just 2 to 5 hours a day each weekday in the afternoon and early evening fits your schedule perfectly. If this is you, then you should become a Bricks 4 Kidz tech instructor.

We are an innovative school educational program teaching children! We are currently looking for instructors for our hands-on after-school and evening coding and robotics programs using technologies such as Scratch, LEGO WeDo, and LEGO Spike. Don't worry, we can train you on these technologies, the curriculum, and running a classroom. You just need to be comfortable with technology and had some kind of experience working with groups of kids (e.g. camp counselor, teacher's assistant, church kids group assistant/leader, FIRST mentor, etc.).

You are 18 years or older and available between the hours of 3:00 and 8:00 pm (see official schedule below). This is a part-time position up to 4 days a week with approximately a 2 to 5 hour time frame each day (dependent upon school/parks and rec- current schedule is 10-12 hours). You can take advantage of additional optional opportunities if you like such as family event booths, workshops, birthday parties, and other events. You might have formal teaching experience but it's not necessary. Each day of the week you would be at a different community center throughout Thurston County including Olympia, Tumwater, and Lacey.

You will become a Bricks 4 Kidz and partner community center staff to ensure the safety of the children, their families, and you and your family. You will have a 30 pound tote, so you'll need to be capable of lifting and transporting it.
