Role Overview
We’re seeking a Lead Compounder / Batch Production Specialist to oversee daily compounding operations, uphold the highest GMP and sanitation standards, and support continuous process improvement.
If you’ve worked in food, beverage, brewery, or chemical manufacturing and have experience with batching, sanitation, and process control, your skills translate directly into this role.
Key Responsibilities
Compounding & Production
- Weigh, measure, and batch raw materials per Master Batch Records (MBRs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Operate, clean, and maintain kettles, mixers, homogenizers, and transfer systems.
- Lead equipment setup, calibration, and sanitation.
- Adjust process parameters (time, temperature, speed, vacuum pressure) to achieve target product specifications.
- Train and guide team members in GMP production, sanitation, and documentation best practices.
Sanitation, Quality & Compliance
- Execute and oversee strict sanitation and cleaning protocols for all production areas and equipment.
- Perform and document in-process quality checks (pH, viscosity, appearance, odor).
- Verify raw materials for identity, traceability, and compliance with specifications.
- Maintain detailed batch, sanitation, and calibration records.
- Collaborate with QA to resolve deviations and implement CAPAs.
- Ensure operations meet GMP, ISO 22716, and FDA (MoCRA) standards for cosmetic manufacturing.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Support R&D in scaling new formulations from pilot to production.
- Partner with Procurement and QA to qualify new materials and suppliers.
- Recommend process improvements for consistency, safety, and yield.
- Foster a clean, efficient, and compliant production environment.
Role Qualifications:
- 4 years of experience in cosmetics, skincare, pharmaceutical, food, beverage, or brewery manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of sanitation programs, cleaning validation, and process documentation.
- Skilled at operating and maintaining process or compounding equipment.
- Detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to product quality.
- A natural problem solver who leads by example and champions safety.
Preferred (not required):
- Experience with vacuum homogenizers or large-scale mixing systems.
- Familiarity with GMP, ISO 22716, or MoCRA frameworks.
- Degree or certification in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Physical Requirements:
This position is primarily office-based and requires sustained work on a computer throughout an 8 hour day. Candidates must be able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly.
- Standing, bending, and walking for extended periods during production runs.
- Use of PPE and adherence to all safety and sanitation requirements.
