Duties
- Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring high-quality presentation and taste
- Assist with menu planning by providing input on dish execution and ingredient selection
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including food prep stations, utensils, and storage areas
- Follow food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures to ensure a safe dining environment
- Support food preparation activities such as chopping, marinating, portioning, and assembling ingredients for service
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of orders during busy service periods
- Assist with catering events or special functions as needed, ensuring all meals meet quality standards
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Proven kitchen experience in a restaurant or food industry setting, demonstrating strong food preparation and cooking skills
- Knowledge of menu planning, food handling, and food safety regulations
- Skilled in culinary techniques including knife skills, meal preparation, and food presentation
- Experience with food service operations such as catering or serving is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members
