Job Summary

Brick’s Hardware & Building Supply is looking for a high-energy, hands-on Store Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of our full-service hardware and building supply store in downtown Hortonville, Wisconsin.

For more than 11 years, Brick’s has served Hortonville and the surrounding communities as a trusted local resource for hardware, household goods, home services, building supplies, seasonal products, and our full-service greenhouse.

What You Will Own

The Store Manager is the leader responsible for the day-to-day administration and operating rhythm of Brick’s.

You will coordinate the schedule, inventory, systems, vendors, and priorities that keep the store operating effectively.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the day-to-day operation and administration of the store
• Maintaining appropriate store coverage
• Managing routine purchasing, inventory replenishment, and receiving
• Establishing clear daily and weekly priorities for the team
• Maintaining organized, accurate, and repeatable store procedures
• Reviewing store performance and identifying opportunities for improvement
• Ensuring the store remains clean, organized, safe, stocked, and ready for customers
• Communicating significant operating needs, opportunities, and decisions directly with ownership

Epicor Eagle Experience Is a Major Plus

Brick’s operates on Epicor Eagle, and experience using Eagle in a hardware, building supply, lumber, or similar retail environment would be extremely valuable.

We are especially interested in candidates who understand how to use a retail management system for purchasing, replenishment, receiving, inventory management, customer accounts, pricing, reporting, and day-to-day store administration.

Epicor experience is not required for an exceptional candidate who has strong retail operating experience and the ability to learn systems quickly.

Experience That Will Make You Stand Out

Retail-management experience is strongly preferred. Experience in hardware, building materials, lumber, home improvement, agricultural supply, automotive parts, lawn and garden, or another inventory-intensive retail environment is particularly relevant.

Strong candidates may also bring experience with employee scheduling, purchasing, inventory management, replenishment, receiving, POS/ERP systems, vendor relationships, customer-service leadership, merchandising, or store operations.

A college degree is not required. We care substantially more about operating ability, leadership, judgment, initiative, reliability, and results.

Schedule

This is a full-time leadership position.

The Store Manager will generally work a daytime operating and administrative schedule, with flexibility based on the needs of the business.

Brick’s uses a rotating leadership schedule for weekends. The Store Manager will share weekend leadership responsibility with our Morning and Afternoon/Evening Shift Leaders, generally resulting in approximately one leadership weekend out of every three, with weekday schedules adjusted accordingly.

The goal is a sustainable leadership schedule—not simply adding weekend hours to a normal workweek.

Compensation & Benefits

$50,000–$65,000 annually, depending on experience.

Compensation may be positioned toward the top of the range for candidates bringing highly relevant hardware/building-supply management experience, strong operating expertise, or Epicor Eagle experience.
