Brick House Recovery is a privately owned, faith-based outpatient substance abuse treatment center with locations in Boise, Coeur d’Alene, and Idaho Falls. We are currently seeking a full-time Substance Use Counselor for our Idaho Falls location.

What You’ll Do
As an Substance Use Counselor at Brick House Recovery, you will:
- Provide individual and group therapy on a daily basis
- Facilitate family and conjoint therapy as needed
- Complete and maintain thorough clinical documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR), including:
- Intake Assessments
- Master Treatment Plans
- Utilization Reviews and Updates
- Progress Notes
- UA results
- Incident Reports
- Discharge Summaries
- Work within a Treatment Team approach, staffing client cases together to provide consistent, well-rounded care
- Lead didactic/educational groups as directed
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning
- Evaluate clinical information to identify causes of problems and determine appropriate interventions, documenting in formal treatment plans
- Conduct therapeutic interviews to help clients gain insight, define goals, and identify strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences
- Provide crisis intervention and consultation when needed
- Maintain a minimum weekly therapy hour requirement and caseload, as specified by your supervisor or director
- Offer consultation/education to community organizations as requested
- Participate in program development, staff in-services, and training
- Attend and contribute to staff meetings
- Assist with administrative functions related to the program
- Help ensure continuity of care by following policies and procedures related to:
- Medical needs
- Discharges
- Special requests impacting therapeutic goals
- Incident management, processing, debriefing, and documentation
What We’re Looking For
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited school
- Licensed in the State of Idaho
- Certified Alcohol/Drug Counselor (CADC) in the State of Idaho
- Minimum 1 year of experience in inpatient, residential, outpatient, and/or mental health care
- Direct clinical and case management experience
- Group leadership experience
- Knowledge of:
- ASAM criteria
- The Twelve Steps of recovery
- Strong clinical and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead and direct the work of others when needed
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong computer skills, including:
- EHR systems
- Charting
- Google Workspace
- Microsoft Office
Conditions of Employment
- Must be able to pass an enhanced background check through the Department of Health and Welfare for the State of Idaho.
- Successful pre-employment drug screening (and random screening upon reasonable suspicion.
- Completion of CPR/First Aid training within 30 days of employment
- Must be a sober person in recovery for at least 18 months
