We are searching for a Senior Sleepwear Designer who has keen ability create sleepwear /loungewear designs for an extremely well known, Designer Brand.
The Sleepwear Designer is responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing innovative and trend-forward sleepwear collections that align with the Brand's aesthetic, target market, and seasonal strategy. This role combines creativity, technical design knowledge, and strong awareness of fashion trends and consumer preferences to deliver compelling, comfortable, and commercially successful sleepwear products.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Development
- Research market trends, fabrics, colors, and consumer preferences specific to sleepwear and loungewear.
- Create seasonal trend boards, color palettes, and fabric stories.
- Develop original sleepwear designs that reflect the brand’s identity.
- Sketch detailed designs using Adobe Illustrator.
- Collaborate with pattern makers, technical designers, and sample rooms to ensure accurate fit and garment construction.
- Participate in fittings and make design or construction adjustments as needed.
Product Lifecycle Management
- Prepare detailed tech packs using a PLM system.
- Daily communication with suppliers and factories.
- Review and approve lab dips, strike-offs, and fabric samples.
- Oversee product development from concept through production
Collaboration
- Work closely with tech, sales and production teams to ensure design feasibility, cost efficiency, and timely delivery.
- Provide direction for assistant designer and CAD artist.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in apparel design, preferably in sleepwear or loungewear.
- Strong understanding of the sleepwear market.
- Proficiency in design software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, and technical specifications.
- Excellent sense of color, texture, and fashion trends.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced, creative, and collaborative studio or office environment.
- Occasional travel vendor meetings.
Salary : $125,000 - $150,000
