What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Planner position at Briaud Financial Advisors?
Financial Planner
Overview
Our team is full of financial planning nerds who are intelligent, curious, and dedicated to their craft. We love what we do and are seeking a Financial Planner who shares this passion and enthusiasm to help us deliver exceptional financial planning services. This is a role for someone who thrives on execution, enjoys solving complex problems, and wants to develop into a more senior-level planning expert through hands-on experience and mentorship.
This is not a sales role or a lead advisor position. Instead, you’ll work alongside others to power our planning work. You’ll focus on building projections, crafting technical analyses, refining client recommendations, and helping our planning team deliver excellence across every aspect of our service.
In this role, you will:
- Build and Refine Financial Plans: Support the creation of retirement, tax, insurance, and estate strategies with precision and insight.
- Research and Model Scenarios: Run projections, test ideas, and analyze outcomes to help the planning team deliver technically sound recommendations.
- Support Client Deliverables: Prepare planning decks and implementation steps, ensuring all materials are clear, accurate, and client-ready.
- Solve Problems with Focus: Bring energy to solving financial puzzles—whether technical or process-driven. You’re the kind of person who says, “I’ll figure this out.”
- Grow with Intention: You’ll receive mentorship, real planning work, and progressive responsibility. This role is designed to prepare you for future lead advisory or advanced planning roles.
We want to talk to you if:
- You’re a Financial Planning Nerd: You get a kick out of solving complex planning problems and learning everything you can about financial strategy.
- You Love Ownership: You enjoy having clear responsibilities and are energized by taking things from start to finish.
- You Move with Urgency: You like progress and momentum—and don’t sit on to-do’s.
- You Communicate Clearly: Whether updating your team or presenting a projection, you value accuracy and clarity.
- You’re Coachable and Growth-Oriented: You take feedback in stride, seek improvement, and want to master your craft over time.
Required:
- CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation or Equivalent (CFA, CPA, JD)

- A belief that working together as a team is the best way to serve clients—and that no task is beneath you when it comes to delivering excellence
