Briason employs dozens of clinical professionals from social workers, Board Certified Behavior Analysists, Nursing professionals, Dietitians, Psychologists, Behavior Intervention Specialists, Administrators, Behavior Technicians and Direct Care Workers to provide training and clinical supports.
Briason Associates provides supports to families and organizations in the following areas:
Workforce Development/Training/Strategic Planning
Briason works closely with organizations to conduct program specific training and strategic planning to develop organization’s infrastructure and build growth and opportunities from within. This process includes analyzing the current workforce, determining future workforce needs, identifying the gap between the present and the future, and implementing solutions so that organizations can accomplish its mission, goals, and strategic plan.
Behavior Intervention Services
Briason provides clinical behavior supports directly to families in their home as well as to organizations within their programs to train caregivers to manage behaviors to provide a greater quality of life for their children or individuals within their programs. Briason believes that a positive and constructive approach is the best way to guide behaviors. This includes providing attention with positive behavior, rather than punishing or focusing on inappropriate behaviors.
Parenting Supports
Briason trains parents on how to deal with difficult to manage behaviors. Briason provides parenting education classes in English and Spanish, and relationship skills, and behavior management training to help parents change unhealthy parenting patterns to increase quality of life for their families and decrease child abuse and neglect.
Briason is a state provider of parenting support services in Connecticut and New York City.

Status: Non-Exempt (Per-Diem) Part Time
A Parent Coach focuses on the goal of enhancing and improving permanency outcomes for parents with Cognitive Impairment (possible Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities) who have been referred for parent training support through the Administration for Children Services (ACS). Parent Coaches are role models who provide guidance based on a combination of training and personal first-hand experience. Empowering and coaching parents through the process with ACS, the courts, and other system representatives is an important aspect of this work.
Specific description of duties
· Develop a trusting relationship with assigned parents.
· Regular contact and visits with parents.
· Support parents in developing positive parenting skills.
· Support parents with treatment services and community resources as needed.
· Support parents in making positive choices.
· Empower parents to advocate for themselves and their family.
· Advocate for parents by attending court proceedings as requested.
· Coach parents in understanding the boundaries and expectations of ACS.
· Attend court and /or meetings as support when requested by parents.
· Attend regular conferences with program supervisor.
· Attend scheduled mentor support group meetings.
· Document contacts and visits with parents via daily progress notes.
· Attend all trainings as required.
· Maintain confidential information.
· Facilitate training as required.
· Participate in advisory committees as required.
· Models and encourages direct, professional communication.
· Ensure parents are trained in all areas of requirement, to facilitate successful achievement on expected goals.
Qualifications:
· Must have at least one-year experience in providing supports and services through ACS or OPWDD or in a human services capacity.
· Bachelor’s Degree in human services preferred. (A combination of experience and education will be considered)

Complete all trainings as required by the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD)
