The Role
As the Used Car Manager, you are the heartbeat of our inventory. You’ll be responsible for the sourcing, reconditioning, and pricing of our pre-owned vehicles, ensuring our lot stays fresh and our sales team is equipped to win.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Acquisition: Aggressively source inventory through auctions, trade-ins, and private purchases to maintain a diverse and profitable lot.
- Pricing Strategy: Utilize market data (vAuto or similar tools) to price vehicles competitively while protecting dealership margins.
- Reconditioning Management: Work closely with the service department to ensure vehicles are front-line ready quickly and cost-effectively.
- Sales Leadership: Partner with the Sales Managers to desking deals, close customers, and motivate the sales floor.
- Digital Merchandising: Oversee the quality of online listings, including photos, descriptions, and third-party site placements.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years in automotive management, specifically focused on used car operations.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with inventory management software (vAuto, Reynolds & Reynolds, or VinSolutions preferred).
- Market Insight: A deep understanding of the Michigan used car market and auction trends.
- Leadership: A "lead-from-the-front" mentality with the ability to coach and develop sales consultants.
- Integrity: A commitment to transparency and the high ethical standards that Briarwood Ford is known for.
