Job Description
We are seeking a high-energy, knowledgeable Retail Sales Associate to join our firearm retail team. This role is customer-facing and requires strong interpersonal skills, a solid working knowledge of firearms, and the ability to stay productive in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate is professional, detail-oriented, and capable of educating customers while maintaining strict compliance with all federal, state, and local firearm laws.
Responsibilities
- Provide knowledgeable, honest, and professional assistance to customers regarding firearms, ammunition, optics, accessories, and related products
- Maintain compliance with all ATF, state, and local firearm regulations and store policies
- Accurately complete sales transactions, including firearm paperwork and background check procedures
- Demonstrate safe firearm handling at all times
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional sales floor
- Restock inventory and assist with merchandising
- Communicate effectively with customers and team members
- Maintain a high level of activity and initiative during slow and busy periods
Required Qualifications
- Strong working knowledge of firearms and firearm safety
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- High motor: self-motivated, energetic, and able to stay productive without constant supervision
- Professional demeanor and strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow written procedures and legal requirements precisely
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weight
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
- Must be able to legally possess and handle firearms
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
- Prior experience working in a gun store, sporting goods store, or firearms-related industry
- Familiarity with ATF Form 4473 and background check processes
- Knowledge of optics, suppressors, NFA items, or reloading equipment
- Sales or customer service experience in a regulated industry
- Firearms training, military, or law enforcement background
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16.0 – 32.0 per week
Work Location: In person
