The Opportunity
As an Estimator specializing in attic insulation, spray foam applications, and waterproofing solutions, you'll be on the front lines of our business - meeting clients, assessing projects, and creating accurate estimates that win business while maintaining profitability. This role offers the perfect balance of technical knowledge, customer interaction, and sales opportunity for someone who understands construction and enjoys seeing tangible results from their work.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site assessments for residential and commercial insulation/waterproofing projects
- Prepare detailed, accurate cost estimates and proposals
- Explain technical solutions and benefits to clients in understandable terms
- Identify upselling opportunities that benefit both clients and company
- Coordinate with installation teams to ensure estimate accuracy and project feasibility
- Follow up consistently with prospects to secure contracts
- Maintain organized documentation of estimates, client communications, and project specifications
What We're Looking For
- Construction industry experience, particularly with building envelope systems
- Strong understanding of building science principles
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and construction drawings
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
- Detail-oriented approach with strong analytical abilities
- Computer literacy with experience in estimating software (or willingness to learn)
- Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
- Valid driver's license, good driving record
- Comfortable with occasional ladder work and navigating spaces like attics and crawlspaces
The Ideal Candidate Will Also Have
- Previous estimating or sales experience in construction
- Knowledge of local building codes and energy efficiency requirements
- Experience with spray foam insulation and waterproofing systems
- Understanding of how insulation systems interact with other building components
