Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable transactions and ensure timely payments to vendors.
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
- Prepare and post journal entries as part of daily and monthly accounting activities.
- Assist with month-end close procedures and financial reporting.
- Maintain and update financial records for multiple affiliated companies.
- Process payroll and prepare related reports.
- Manage sales tax filings and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Track and record fixed assets.
- Assist with job costing and project accounting as needed.
- Maintain up-to-date vendor records and documentation.
- Support annual audits and assist with tax preparation.
- Identify and help implement improvements to accounting processes and workflows.
- Ensure the completeness and accuracy of all financial data.
- Collaborate closely with the Business Operations Manager and company ownership.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Experience processing payroll is preferred.
- Proficiency with Aspire, INOVA, QuickBooks Online, and Microsoft Office.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
