What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Controller position at Brhino Search?
A fast-growing, PE-backed financial services platform is building its internal accounting function from the ground up. This is a genuine ground-floor opportunity, not a seat inside an established department, but a role where you will own the accounting operations for a growing portfolio of acquired businesses and help design the systems, processes, and controls that will scale with the company. The environment is fast-paced, the scope is real, and the right candidate will have immediate visibility and impact.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Own day-to-day GL processes, monthly close, reconciliations, variance analysis, financial statements, budgets, and cash forecasts
- Apply deep US GAAP expertise across complex areas including revenue recognition, purchase accounting, and lease accounting
- Serve as a key finance lead during post-acquisition integration, onboarding new partner companies onto financial systems and platforms
- Lead and support ERP implementation work for acquired entities
- Act as primary point of contact for external auditors
- Interface directly with the leadership teams of partner companies, serving as a trusted financial advisor and operational resource
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Active CPA license
- 6 years of accounting experience with at least 2 years in-house at an operating company
- Deep ERP experience
- Track record of working in fast-paced, high-growth environments and building process and structure from scratch
- Strong executive presence and communication skills; this role requires consistent engagement with sophisticated external stakeholders
- Multi-entity accounting or post-acquisition integration experience is a strong plus
