A premier national MEP contractor is seeking an accomplished Mechanical Project Executive to lead some of the most sophisticated and high-profile construction projects in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast United States.
This industry-leading organization specializes in delivering complex mechanical, plumbing, and piping systems for hyper scale mission critical data centers, world-class healthcare campuses, and large-scale casino/hotel developments. We are seeking a proven executive leader with deep expertise managing large-scale mechanical operations on hyper scale data center projects and the ability to lead major project teams in fast-paced, high-demand environments.
This role offers a unique long-term leadership opportunity. Following successful completion of the initial assignment, the selected executive will be considered for advancement into a senior operational leadership role.
Position Overview
The Mechanical Project Executive will provide executive-level leadership for major mechanical construction projects across mission critical, healthcare, and hospitality markets. This individual will oversee all aspects of project execution including operations leadership, financial performance, manpower strategy, client relations, scheduling, procurement coordination, risk management, and team development.
The ideal candidate is a decisive leader capable of managing multiple large-scale projects simultaneously while maintaining exceptional standards for safety, quality, productivity, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full-cycle execution of major mechanical, plumbing, and piping construction projects
- Direct project teams delivering hyper scale mission critical data centers and other complex facilities
- Oversee project financial performance, forecasting, labor productivity, procurement strategy, and schedule execution
- Manage large field operations teams, project management staff, superintendents, and support personnel
- Maintain executive-level relationships with owners, developers, general contractors, and design teams
- Drive project planning, coordination, logistics, and operational execution for accelerated schedules
- Lead risk management efforts, contract administration, change management, and project controls
- Support fabrication, prefabrication, and modular construction strategies to improve efficiency and schedule performance
- Ensure successful coordination between preconstruction, engineering, operations, and field leadership teams
- Mentor and develop future operational leaders within the organization
- Support long-term growth initiatives throughout the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions
Qualifications
- Extensive experience leading large-scale mechanical construction projects as a Project Executive or senior operations leader
- Proven experience managing hyper scale mission critical/data center projects
- Deep understanding of large, fast-paced HVAC, Plumbing, and Piping construction operations
- Strong background managing complex projects within healthcare, hospitality, industrial, or mission critical sectors
- Demonstrated ability to lead large project teams and multi-million-dollar project portfolios
- Strong financial management, forecasting, and operational planning capabilities
- Experience managing highly accelerated schedules and large field labor forces
- Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and client management skills
- Strong understanding of fabrication, prefabrication, and advanced construction methodologies
- Ability to build high-performing teams and drive accountability throughout all phases of construction
- Willingness to travel or relocate based on project and operational needs
