Project Estimator

Brex Enterprises is seeking a disciplined, analytical Estimator to lead preconstruction efforts for

heavy civil and site development projects.

This role focuses on production-based estimating, risk analysis, and early project planning. The

ideal candidate is detail-oriented, system-driven, and comfortable using data to drive decisions.

This is not a relationship-first role. It is a margin-protection role.

Core Responsibilities

Estimating & Takeoff

 Perform accurate quantity takeoffs

 Build detailed estimates using HCSS HeavyBid

 Develop production-based labor and equipment pricing

 Identify risk factors and scope gaps

 Analyze subcontractor quotes

 Ensure estimates meet target gross margin thresholds

Relationship and Bid Follow-Up

 Follow up on submitted bids within 48 hours

 Track win/loss feedback

 Support development of GC relationships

 Maintain active bid log and pipeline visibility

Pre-Job Planning Support

 Convert estimate assumptions into preliminary project schedules

 Build production-duration forecasts

 Assist in manpower and equipment planning

 Prepare pre-job turnover documentation

 Support cost-code setup and early cost tracking

Process & Accuracy Accountability

 Maintain active bid log and tracking metrics

 Participate in estimate vs. actual reviews

 Adjust production rates based on real job performance

 Improve internal estimating templates and standards

Required Experience

 3 years estimating heavy civil / site / utility work

 Strong proficiency in HCSS HeavyBid

 Strong understanding of production rates and equipment utilization

 Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and specifications

 High attention to detail

 Structured thinker

Compensation

$80,000 – $100,000 base salary *based on experience.
