Job Title: Mechanic

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced mechanic with a strong background in maintaining and repairing heavy equipment used in excavation and construction projects. This is a full-time, year-round position with a diverse workload to include both shop and field work. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and engine systems, ensuring that machinery such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and dump trucks operate efficiently, reliably, and safely. This role requires a proactive approach to diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and safety compliance to minimize downtime and support project success.

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive inspections and preventive maintenance on heavy machinery and trucks
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic issues.
• Conduct repairs efficiently to restore equipment to optimal working conditions.
• Maintain detailed records of all repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with project managers to schedule repairs and reduce operational downtime.
• Use diagnostic tools, manuals, and schematics to troubleshoot issues accurately.
• Order parts, supplies, and/or services needed for repairs promptly.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a mechanic specializing in heavy equipment and truck repair.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems, engines, electrical systems, and diagnostics.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic data.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Welding experience is necessary.
• Valid driver’s license; relevant certifications such as ASE or manufacturer-specific certifications are a plus.
