Duties

• Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, including compounding sterile and non-sterile prescriptions using aseptic techniques for IV infusions and other therapies
• Manage medication intake, inventory control, and ensure proper storage of pharmaceuticals in accordance with safety standards
• Provide excellent patient service by accurately processing prescriptions, answering medication-related questions, and supporting patient care initiatives
• Support hospital-based medication administration processes, ensuring timely delivery of medications to various departments
• Maintain detailed documentation of medication dispensing, inventory logs, and compliance records
• Apply medical terminology knowledge to interpret prescriptions and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals
• Uphold strict aseptic techniques during sterile compounding and IV infusion preparation to prevent contamination

Requirements

• Valid certification as a Pharmacy Technician from an accredited program or regulatory body
• Proven pharmacy technician experience, preferably within LTC pharmacy or hospital settings with exposure to critical care environments
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, medication administration protocols, and aseptic technique procedures
• Experience with IV infusion preparation and handling high-acuity medications in acute care settings
• Knowledge of pharmacy operations related to intake processes, inventory management, and medication safety standards
• Excellent patient service skills with a focus on compassionate communication and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments requiring critical thinking and teamwork
