Accountant

Position Overview

• Prepare financial statements, maintain general ledger, and perform account reconciliations and related analysis.
• Conduct monthly cost accounting for materials and finished inventory.
• Develop monthly profitability forecasts for manufacturing operations.
• Manage fixed asset accounting and reconcile related accounts.
• Oversee monthly and year-end close, including audit and tax schedule preparation.
• Handle accounts receivable across multiple divisions.
• Hire, train, and supervise office staff.
• Ensure compliance with internal control procedures.
• Provide financial analysis for special projects.
• Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
• Identify and act on opportunities for process improvement.
• Collaborate with company accounting teams and management.
• Work closely with manufacturing sites in Wisconsin and Alabama, with occasional travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong background in general ledger functions.
• Experience with audits (external, sales tax, etc.).
• Preference for candidates with manufacturing experience, especially inventory/cost accounting.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proven leadership and communication abilities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
• Professional demeanor and team-oriented approach.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
