Boba Tea Barista

Overview
We are a tea/milktea/boba store that is located at 988 South San Francisco on El Camino Real, South San Francisco. Do you enjoy tea and have you always want to learn how your matcha, milk tea or boba drink is made? We are currently looking for passionate and energetic people who are looking for a fast-paced and fun place to work. We are currently hiring for BOBA TEA BARISTA positions. Must be able to work on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

POSITIONS:

Tea barista: is a store team member reporting to the Store Manager and/or Assistant Store Manager Provides excellent customer service by engaging with customers about products and promotions, cleaning and organizing the store, and promptly preparing and serving quality beverages and snacks. Prepping tea, topping and snacks. Operations in kitchen. Accurately operates point-of-sales terminals, maintains reliability in attendance, and demonstrates team work and respect with all staff.

REQUIREMENTS:

-Excellent communication skills and customer service
-Must be able to work on Tuesday, Thursday, and -Sunday
-Experience not necessary, Any experience with food/hospitality would be preferred
-Good references upon request
-You are personable, positive, enthusiastic, responsible, punctual and have a strong work ethic.
-You are be able to work Flexible hours. The earliest shift will start at 11am and the closing time on weekends will be 10pm.
-You have reliable transportation to and from work, as mentioned before we close at 10pm everyday.
-You are able to work in a high volume, fast paced environment. Being a tea barista there will be times when there are rushes of customers and you must be able to manage the speed stress of the fast paced environment.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of boba tea drinks, smoothies, and light snacks according to established recipes and quality standards
• Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process transactions accurately and efficiently
• Engage with customers in a friendly, energetic manner, providing excellent customer service and answering questions about menu items
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food handling, food safety practices, and food preparation
• Manage cash handling responsibilities with accuracy using POS systems and basic math skills for transactions and change calculation
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures at all times
• Assist in inventory management by restocking supplies, monitoring product freshness, and recording usage

Experience

• Previous barista experience or background in the food industry is preferred but not required; we welcome motivated learners eager to grow their skills
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
• Strong time management skills to handle busy service periods efficiently
• Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service in retail or café environments
• Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and transaction accuracy
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food preparation techniques
• Experience with serving beverages or working in a café setting will help you excel in this lively role

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.15 - $20.00 per hour
