(This position is housed at Enterprise Elementary School.) The Itinerant String Specialist works closely with music teachers across multiple schools to support student learning in music and string instruction, serving students in grades 5–12. The primary instrument of study for this position is strings. Reliable transportation is required in order to travel between school sites. The String Specialist collaborates with school-based music teachers and key stakeholders to develop and sustain high-quality orchestra programs beginning in fifth grade and continuing through high school. This role includes recommending and modeling best practices in string technique, pedagogy, repertoire selection, assessment, and program management. The String Specialist also supports and adheres to district, school, and classroom procedures and expectations Must hold valid Florida Teaching Certification in Music K-12.
