Job Overview
Brevard County, under a Board of County Commissioners, in Viera, FL, is seeking a skilled professional to join their dynamic GIS team. Perform skilled professional Geospatial analysis and software development for the Information Technology Department. Work includes providing support for the needs of multiple County departments and completing specialized courses relating to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and access to servers and architectural structures. Employees in this class work independently on complex special projects and may supervise other personnel related to the completion of assigned tasks.
Salary note: After October 1, 2025, the advertised salary minimum and maximum will increase by 4%.
This is not a remote work position.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field three (3) to five (5) years of experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS); Bachelor’s degree in a relative computer-related field. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have experience with the following:
- Thorough knowledge Geographic Information Systems (GIS) concepts and best practices;
- ArcGIS Enterprise Infrastructure maintaining and troubleshooting (Setup/Upgrade, Portal, GIS Server, Data Store, Web Adaptor/Server, Image Server, SQL Server);
- ArcGIS Online & Enterprise Portal Web Application and Web Experience configuration;
- ArcSDE/Multi-Versioned Database (Setup, Configure, Maintain, Troubleshooting);
- Creating technical documentation utilizing excellent written and verbal skills, and the ability to conduct effective communication among peers.
The following experience is preferred:
- Experience with ArcGIS Model Builder, ArcGIS Arcade (Attribute Rules) & Python.
In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed
