Position: Assistant Basketball Coach
Location: Brevard Academy
Reports to: Head Basketball Coach
Job Summary:
The Assistant Basketball Coach will assist the Head Coach in all aspects of the basketball program, including player development, practice planning, and team travel. Additionally, the assistant coach will assist with implementing a strength, conditioning, and recovery program to enhance athletic performance.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning of daily practice sessions.
- Assess the physical capabilities of athletes and help design individualized training programs.
- Conduct strength and conditioning sessions for athletes.
- Monitor and assess athlete progress and adjust programs as needed.
- Collaborate with the head coach to ensure the safety of athletes.
- Attend all practices and serve as a role model for the student-athletes.
- Travel with the team, assist with driving (van), and chaperone.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or related field preferred.
- Prior coaching experience.
- Experience working with athletes at a competitive level.
- Strong knowledge of basketball rules, techniques, and strategies.
- Knowledge of injury prevention and rehabilitation techniques.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and motivational skills.
- Ability to work evenings.
Salary : $2,000 - $2,800
