Location
We are located in Leonardtown, MD home of the annual national oyster-shucking championship, and just an hour and a half outside of our nation’s capital.
Practice Overview
In 1990, Dr. Lynn Fenwick founded Breton Veterinary Hospital with a desire to serve the St. Mary’s County region through her passion for internal medicine, dentistry, and senior care. We are a private, AAHA accredited practice focused on creating lasting relationships with our clients. We pride ourselves on the high level of care we provide to dogs and cats living throughout southern Maryland. We are a small, family-oriented team that believes in taking time to educate our clients on options to best care for their furry family members.
What You’ll Be Working On
- Engaging and communicating with clients
- Be your patients advocate ensure the best care and comfort is provided
- Supervise and train all technician assistants
- Promote teamwork and positivity through effective communication
- Uphold and promote all hospital policies and procedures
- Assisting the doctors start to finish with patient treatments, procedures, and activities
- Relieving doctors of technical work to help improve the quality of care given to patients
- Receiving, handling, and treating patients with skill, compassion, and care including monitoring them during anesthesia, administering fluids, and assisting in diagnostics, surgery, and general nursing care
Qualifications
- Associates of Applied Science Degree in Veterinary Technology required
- Prefer a Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of Maryland
- At least 2-years’ of experience preferred
- Opportunity to lead and mentor veterinary technicians in a supervisory role
- Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for learning and taking the initiative
- Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
